Funpacks should have included keepsakes

While the idea of giving all households a funpack to commemorate SG50 is commendable, more thought should have been put into what goes into it ("One people, one nation, one funpack"; Aug 6).

It may be impossible to please everyone, but giving packets of small samples is surely not what SG50 is about.

The funpack could have included:

- A small book of memorable photos of Singapore's history.

- A Singapore flag in a small, nice bag.

- A desktop paperweight with an appropriate logo or image of our flag inside.

In essence, there should have been something to treasure and keep for years and which would arouse our patriotic feelings and pride in our nation.
