Enriching experience at iconic museum

My friend and I visited the National Gallery Singapore on Jan 12.

We were delighted to be greeted and helped by many smiling and cheerful ushers.

Besides the many excellent art pieces and exhibits, the preservation of the former Supreme Court and City Hall buildings was most impressive.

In 1972, as a rookie police officer, I was in the Supreme Court as a witness, and I was filled with awe.

Forty-four years later, I am still awed by this significant building.

I left the National Gallery feeling enriched and happy, and blessed to have this iconic museum.

I thank National Development Minister Lawrence Wong for implementing free entry to museums for Singaporeans, when he was helming the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth.
