Professor Kishore Mahbubani's commentary ("The road to a car-less Singapore"; Dec 12, 2015) has reverberated with many readers.

It is natural for people to resist change. Nonetheless, the world evolves through changes all the time.

Thanks to our leaders, soon, every household will be within 10 minutes' walk of an MRT station.

Given such proximity to MRT stations, "community cars" could be housed at the stations, from where they can be conveniently rented.

I am positive we will realise our dream of a car-less Singapore within a decade.
