Do more to ramp up public support for Singapore football

I agree with the points raised by Mr Bai Zhongkai about Singapore football ("Start change in S'pore football with team management"; Dec 17).

On top of management fine-tuning, public support here should also be ramped up to energise the Singapore team.

In Indonesia, for instance, prior to its team's first-leg battle against Thailand in the Asean Football Federation Suzuki Cup, scores of day concerts were held, TV shows included football-related quizzes to generate vibe, and football fans also gathered and camped outside the stadium hours before the match, under the hot sun.

I hope that we, too, can emulate and generate such support for Singapore football.
