The use of zebra crossings poses dangers to pedestrians (Replace zebra crossings with signalised pedestrian crossings, by Mr Tan Choon Han; Oct 20).
Some drivers either do not give way or are distracted, resulting in them not stopping for pedestrians.
It is worse in the night because there are no signalised lights to warn drivers or riders.
Zebra crossings are outdated. I agree with Mr Tan that they should be replaced by signalised pedestrian crossings.
