Anything that will bring smile to dying relative's face

The smile on my Mum's face when a simple ice cream was brought to her in her last days remains a cherished memory in the minds and hearts of our family.

This is why I cannot agree with Mr Jeffrey Law Lee Beng (Don't encourage patients' requests to feed unhealthy habits; May 22).

Patients with terminal illnesses already suffer immensely from poor appetite and depression.

Anything that can bring even a hint of a smile to that person's face is definitely worth doing.

To the family members of such patients, it is immaterial whether the food is healthy or not, as long as their loved one enjoys it.

When you know that your loved one is in his or her last days, it is gratifying to know that he or she is enjoying something in life, despite the illness.
