Currently, for monthly Giro payments, the only credit card accepted by SP Services is the POSB Everyday Card.
POSB began with a 1 per cent rebate. It then split the 1 per cent into two payments - 0.3 per cent in the first month and 0.7 per cent in the following month.
In another new change, the amount that can receive the 0.7 per cent rebate is capped at $100.
On the other hand, the Singtel-UOB credit card has given better rebates for Singtel bills over time, from a 0.75 per cent rebate for payments less than $100 previously to 1 per cent for payments less than $50 as early as last November, for instance.
SP Services should open its credit card payments for monthly Giro payments to credit card issuers other than POSB.
