All must be committed to safeguarding Singapore's peace

As I watched the video clips on the Jan 14 attack in Jakarta over and over, the only thing I saw was fear ("ISIS behind deadly Jakarta attack"; Jan 15).

This raises the vital question of how prepared we are as a nation to face this form of adversity.

Terrorism today is not about religion; it is an attack on the right of mankind to live peaceably with one another.

Everyone in Singapore needs to be committed to safeguarding the peace of our country through national service and the Total Defence pillars.
