A very clear message has been sent - that Singapore will not stand for those who foment violence, whether here or elsewhere ("Bangladeshis plotting terror attacks held under ISA"; May 4).
There is no room for groups or individuals set on plotting death, doom and destruction on society, for whatever reason.
It is a vile thing, and should never be allowed by any government and its people.
There is a need for decisive action to prevent divisiveness from rearing its ugly head here.
That is why we have intelligence services. They are there to protect us, and prevent individuals and groups set on causing mischief from ever succeeding within our country.
They must continue to serve us well, with Singaporeans backing them by providing information at the first sign of suspicious behaviour or trouble.
However remote or sketchy, making such suspicious activity known allows for investigations to be carried out and any plans to do harm thwarted.
We all have a part to play, as Singaporeans, to ensure that safety and security are never compromised.
