Who: Seah Yam Meng, 52, a retired civil servant now involved in volunteer work.

My home: I live in the northern part of Singapore.

My passions: Travelling, jogging, reading and Web-surfing.

I started writing to the Forum page...: In the 1990s.

What I write about: Anything under the sun.

Why I write: People have different perspectives and viewpoints; I hope mine can contribute to a better understanding of any debate.

I read the Forum page because...: It offers a refreshing perspective on issues from people on the ground.

My wish for Singapore: I hope Singapore will continue to enjoy peace, progress and prosperity under the capable leadership of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and his Cabinet, and our future generations will get to celebrate SG100 in style.
