Who: Shamim Moledina, 68, housewife.

My family: Two children - a son, 45, and a daughter, 38.

My home: Private apartment in the east.

My passions: I enjoy playing bridge in my free time, as it keeps my mind active and sane.

I also like to travel to see the world, as well as visit my children and siblings, who all live abroad.

I try to help the needy and the underprivileged, as it gives me great satisfaction. I am also a member of the neighbourhood committee.

I first started writing to the Forum page...: In 2011.

What I write about: I write on different topics, such as foreign workers' living and working environments, and recycling.

Why I write: I feel obligated to do my part in sharing my views, as well as giving suggestions on matters concerning Singaporeans and Singapore.

The war and destruction in the Middle East is one of my concerns, as are other happenings around the world.

I read the Forum page because...: I am very interested to know the thoughts and concerns of fellow Singaporeans.

My wish for Singapore: To always remain prosperous and stable, as one people, one nation, one Singapore. And that there is always tolerance and harmony among all the different races and religions. And, most important, peace in the world.
