Wound products not to be shared among patients

We thank Mr Heng Cho Choon for his feedback ("Make change of dressing less wasteful"; last Sunday).

At the National Healthcare Group Polyclinics, we are committed to providing appropriate and good care for our patients, emphasising patient safety at all times.

Mr Heng visited Bukit Batok Polyclinic for wound dressing after undergoing a minor procedure.

The plaster which he described in his letter was actually a wound product, selected based on his wound condition and applied directly to his wound. Such products are meant for individual use and not recommended to be shared among patients.

We note Mr Heng's suggestion and we will look into bringing in different sizes of wound products where it is economically possible.

We wish Mr Heng the best of health.
