MY FAMILY and I, together with thousands of SEA Games enthusiasts, were left helpless and appalled by the way the authorities at the Singapore Sports Hub handled the entry into the stadium for the closing ceremony on Tuesday.
We were all denied entry because it was full.
Security officers cited the safety of spectators as a reason for denying us entry.
But all of us had purchased tickets to the ceremony.
Was there an over-sale of seats? Were too many complimentary tickets given out?
Loyal Singapore supporters were utterly disappointed at having been denied entry, and penalised for going the extra mile to support local sports.
The organisers need to look into what happened to ensure this doesn't happen again.
