I am disheartened by the attitude of many Singaporeans towards migrant workers.
How many times have you walked by a construction worker and greeted him or waved "hello"? For most of us, I am sure the answer is zero.
It is time we changed this.
Migrant workers are not merely expedient machines. They are working, breathing people who are no less vulnerable andemotional than us.
Acknowledging their presence and giving them a simple smile will make a difference to them.
