Tighten security in crowded places

While people should be reminded to stay vigilant, concrete security measures should also be implemented by the authorities.

Places that are packed with people, such as stadiums, theatres and cinemas, should have better security measures at the entrances.

The Government and private operators should impose strict admission conditions, and bags should be screened and searched.

People who object to their belongings being searched should be barred from entering.

MRT stations and trains are also potential targets as they are always crowded.

We should follow the examples of some countries and have X-ray machines to scan bags before people are allowed to enter the train platforms.

Police officers who are on duty on the platforms should spread out and scour the areas.
