Telecast delay

Singtel not blaming content provider

Singtel does not blame its content provider, Eurosport, for the delayed start of the telecast of the Uefa Champions League final ("Singtel blames content provider for delay"; yesterday). Singtel is responsible for this telecast.

A migration of satellite feeds for the Eurosport channels took place last week as Eurosport was changing its satellite providers.

This inadvertently led to Singtel taking the Eurosport satellite feed that did not carry the Uefa Champions League final.

As soon as this error was discovered, the Eurosport and Singtel teams quickly moved to reinstate the correct fibre feed that carried the football coverage.

Despite our best efforts, coverage resumed two minutes and 18 seconds into the match.

We apologise once again for this delayed telecast. We know how much this means to our football fans and we assure them that we do not take such events lightly.

The Eurosport and Singtel teams are working together to put in place measures that rule out any future recurrence.
