Silence noisy MRT construction sites

I live a few blocks away from the Havelock MRT construction site. Even at that distance, every day, I am awakened by pounding and drilling.

It has been months, but the sound barrier is barely half built.

MRT construction takes years to complete. Construction work begins at 8am and goes on through the day.

The pounding is an almost daily affair and is disturbing to residents living nearby, not to mention workers at commercial buildings nearby. Even residents returning home after work are not spared, as construction work and ad hoc drilling can go on until 9pm.

I notice that the construction site behind Wisma Atria in Orchard Road is properly covered up with high sound barriers. Why are these barriers not up at all sites?

I urge the authorities to look into this, and allow residents near such construction sites to have a more peaceful neighbourhood.
