Right attitude, training needed with new tech

My earlier letter ("New tech doesn't always boost productivity;" last Thursday) may have given some readers the impression that employees may be resistant to adopting new technologies ("Don't be cynical about new technology" by Mr Tan Kar Quan; Monday).

When harnessed in the right way, new technologies offer huge potential in enhancing workforce productivity and provide companies with a competitive advantage amid increasing business competition.

When implementing new technologies, employers should be aware of the fact that positive outcomes can be achieved only when employees adopt a receptive mindset towards acquiring new knowledge and remain adaptable to changes.

Coupled with relevant training, employees will be able to leverage new technologies to increase their workplace productivity.

It is only when employees are adequately trained and equipped with the right attitude that we are able to reap the full benefits offered by new technological innovations.
