More enforcement must accompany new rules

I applaud the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources' move to extend the ambit of no-smoking areas to include reservoirs and parks ("Smoking ban to extend to reservoirs, parks"; yesterday).

With the expansion of no-smoking areas, will there be enough manpower to enforce this rule?

Currently, one can often see smokers puffing away at bus stops and lift lobbies without any consequence.

Will additional enforcement officers be deployed to ensure compliance with this new ruling?
