Life jackets must be in working order

I agree with Mr Teo Kok Seah's suggestion of giving travellers hands-on practice in the donning of life vests ("Give travellers hands-on practice in donning life vests"; yesterday).

It is also important for travel vehicle operators to ensure that all life vests are in working order, be it in the air or on water.

I have been on ferries and boats overseas where life vests were defective, without functional zippers or strap buckles. On one trip, the adult and child vests were all in one entangled mess, and did not look functional.

I am contemplating getting my own life vest for future trips.
