It would be a much better idea to lengthen MRT station platforms as opposed to "covering up some existing voids" to create more space ("Commuters to get more space at 17 MRT stations"; Tuesday).

With a longer platform, not only will there be more space generated for waiting commuters, the extra length can also accommodate longer eight-car trains, instead of the current six-car ones.

I hope the Land Transport Authority will examine the issue of creating more space on train platforms more carefully.
