Keep up inter-faith interaction

It is heartening to note that the Muslim community has every reason to be confident of a brighter future, as Muslims celebrated Hari Raya Aidilfitri yesterday ("Muslims 'can be confident of brighter future'"; yesterday).

The fasting month of Ramadan saw many mosques inviting non-Muslims to join them in their break-fast sessions, where they shared their food with other races, promoting the kampung spirit of old.

This is the spirit we need to carry into the future.

The inter-mingling among faiths allows us to better appreciate one another's cultures better.

It also strengthens relations and further builds rapport and friendship between Muslims and non-Muslims.

We need to continue such interactions to ensure we all continue living in peace and harmony on this little red dot we call home.
