It is not easy to compose a National Day song that suits everyone's taste (NDP song leaves much to be desired, by Mr Joe Teo Kok Seah; June 3).

Since there are different opinions, I propose alternatives, such as having a songwriting competition for future NDP songs.

The final song could be chosen through votes by the public and professionals, with a 50-50 weightage.

This will give those who want to contribute a chance to display their talents, and cater more to the public's taste.
