Good move to ensure integrity of potential FAS leaders

As an ardent local football fan, I am very heartened to read that the Football Association of Singapore is moving closer to holding elections for its office bearers ("FAS clears path for polls"; last Friday).

I appreciate the association's pursuit of high management ideals and uncompromising standards of honesty and integrity, to the extent that it will rope in the police to screen prospective candidates.

It is imperative that the FAS be governed by qualified council members who have integrity.
