Find ways for public to help those with dementia

Perhaps the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Social and Family Development could find a way to identify people with dementia so that the public can help them ("10,000 trained to spot and help those with dementia"; last Wednesday).

Perhaps those with dementia could wear a wristband or pendant that contains information such as their address, the particulars of their next of kin, drug allergies and other medical information.

These bands or pendants could be in a distinctive colour, such that members of the public, even if they are not trained in spotting and helping those with dementia, can assist them, if necessary.
