Extend other Edusave awards to poly students

Sunday's report ("Edusave awards for poly students too") was very encouraging.

While Acting Minister for Education (Higher Education and Skills) Ong Ye Kung introduced the new Edusave Skills Award for polytechnic students, two other types of "awards" were excluded.

Poly students also deserve to be recognised based on their "Achievements, Good Leadership and Service" and "Good Character".

With the above traits being recognised as well, poly students will be seen by potential employers as excellent potential candidates with the right qualities to serve, lead and impart excellent skills to their juniors, and as good citizens of our nation.

I hope the Education Ministry shows that it values all Singaporean students, including those from polytechnics, and moulds them into all-round and responsible young adults, instead of just focusing on their skills.
