Ensure pets are caged, muzzled

I agree with Mr Ng Aik Sing that owners of small animals should be allowed to take their pets on buses as long as the animals are small, caged and do not come into physical contact with other commuters ("Allow pet owners to take small animals on buses"; Dec 16).

Small dogs like toy poodles could be muzzled to prevent barking or biting.

Buses could also have a separate compartment to place pets in for a fee.

This way, pets and their owners need not take private transport for visits to veterinary clinics, or to parks and other places of interest.
