Misspelling the name of our first president Yusof Ishak is an embarrassing mistake ("MAS 'sorry' for typo on SG50 notes set packaging"; yesterday).
Having worked in the publishing industry , I know that typographical errors are common in printed materials.
Unless one is trained in this field, it is difficult to spot such errors.
Companies and government bodies should not stint on this aspect of publishing; we need to get trained people to do this important job.
Rectifying the errors will cost far more than engaging a professional proofreader.
