Disappointing tour of Changi Airport

I signed my parents up for an airport tour under the Changi Rewards programme on Sept 4.

It cost $35 per person and was supposed to give them an overview of the whole airport.

I had expected the tour to take them to areas not accessible to the typical traveller, hence giving them a behind-the-scenes peek at the workings of our world-class airport.

However, they were taken to places in the transit area only. A visit to the fire station would have been the highlight, but it had to be shelved. My parents were disappointed.

The other tour members also seemed unimpressed.

Such tours overseas would have taken visitors to restricted areas such as the baggage-sorting area, cargo facilities, tarmac, control tower or aircraft hangar.

This tour is a failure and tarnishes the good reputation of Changi Airport Group. No one should have to pay to go on such a tour.
