Differentiating S'pore as a destination

We thank Mr Albert Sim Kian Siang for his suggestion on promoting cycling tours to overseas visitors ("Consider cycling tours of Singapore"; Forum Online, Dec 7).

We agree that activity-based tours are a healthy way for visitors to enjoy the different sights and sounds of Singapore.

There are already some interesting activity-based tours currently available, such as City

By The Water Kick Scooter Tour by Betel Box Tours, which shows visitors around the Marina Bay area, and Sentosa Segway tours by Gogreen Holdings.

To continue to differentiate Singapore as a destination, we certainly need more varied and engaging experiences.

In support of this, we launched a $10 million Experience Step-Up Fund in August.

We are currently calling for proposals for tour development and technology initiatives until next February, and we encourage those with good ideas to submit their proposals to us by Feb 5.

Successful applicants can receive funding support of up to 70 per cent of qualifying costs.

Interested parties are invited to visit our website at www.stb.gov.sg for more information.
