Cover commuters in the last mile

Recently, I was stranded at an MRT station in a heavy downpour. Many others were in a similar situation, waiting for the rain to stop or trying to hail taxis.

I propose that SMRT get companies to sponsor umbrellas, which will be placed at MRT stations for commuters to use. The umbrellas can be returned to the nearest MRT station.

The public could also be encouraged to place their unwanted umbrellas at stations.

Doing this could reduce the strain on taxis on rainy days. People could also save precious time and spend more time with their families instead.
