I was flipping through a geography book for Secondary 1 by Alicia Brown, Audrey Tan, M.C. Clarke, Shirley Melissas and Dr Wong Poh Poh, published by Hodder Education, when I came across a "World Political Map".
I was surprised to see that many island countries in the Caribbean were listed under South America.
In my school days, I had learnt that Central America, including the Caribbean islands, is considered a part of the North American continent.
I checked Wikipedia and Encyclopaedia Britannica and this classification has not changed.
I hope the Ministry of Education will look into this and take steps to remove incorrect information in our school textbooks.
