Build bigger lifts for bicycles and wheelchairs

While there are conducive cycling paths and barrier-free paths across the island, the lifts of HDB blocks are a challenge for users of bicycles and wheelchairs.

They tend to be too small, making it difficult for cyclists and wheelchair users to manoeuvre in or out, even if they are the only ones in the lift.

The lift doors also tend to close before a bicycle or wheelchair can completely move in or out, which can cause damage to the lift door mechanism and even injury to the user.

Often, cyclists and wheelchair users have to wait for the next lift, because of space constraints. It is even more difficult if their family members are with them.

I hope HDB can build bigger lift cars that are more bicycle- and wheelchair-friendly.
