Bouquets: Role model for all F&B staff

Role model for all F&B staff

My family and I had a wonderful time at Edge at Pan Pacific Hotel last Friday because of the outstanding service of Mr Kumar.

He noticed that it was our maiden visit to the restaurant, patiently explained how we should go about ordering our food, and remained attentive to us throughout the evening.

This exemplary service was also extended to other tables, even though the place was busy.

As it was my daughter's birthday, I asked if the restaurant could surprise her with a small gesture. Mr Kumar checked and said that all the extra cakes had already been given to other customers who were also celebrating their birthdays.

We accepted this and did not expect any follow-up. Therefore, we were pleasantly surprised when Mr Kumar came back later to say that there was an extra slice of cake available, if we still wanted to surprise our daughter.

His thoughtfulness, dedication and professionalism made my daughter's evening that much more special and memorable.

Mr Kumar is a role model to all working in the food and beverage (F&B) sector. He demonstrates what it means to carry out one's responsibilities with pride, so as to make a positive difference to the experience of others, and create a rewarding work experience for ourselves.

We thank him for his exceptional service and hope he continues to inspire others.

Compassion stands out from crowd

I am deeply grateful to Ms Nuzurath, of Hougang Polyclinic pharmacy, for helping my son and me on April 20.

At around 8.50am that day, I was with my son Arulkumaran, 28, at the bus stop adjacent to the Hougang bus interchange when he fainted and fell to the ground.

I was shocked and did not know what to do. Though there were many people at the bus stop, the only person who offered to help was Ms Nuzurath.

She called for a taxi, which is not an easy feat at that time, and accompanied us to Hougang Polyclinic. There, she put my son in a wheelchair and escorted us to the registration booth.

Ms Nuzurath's compassion stood out from the crowd, and words cannot express my thanks.

I also thank the nurse and doctor at Hougang Polyclinic for treating my son with urgency and arranging for an ambulance to take him to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

Amazing care in and out of hospital

My family and I thank the doctors and nurses at National University Hospital Ward 53 for the care shown to my late father Phay Teng Khiam between last August and last month.

He had the best care possible, even when he was discharged from the hospital and cared for at home under NUH2Home (NUH2H) Transitional Care.

We especially thank staff nurse May Lee of the NUH2H team for her professionalism, care, patience, kindness and understanding.

Even when my father was no longer under NUH2H Transitional Care, May was still available to us, and we really appreciate it.

We also thank the NUH2H team - Dr Ng Shu Ee, Dr Melanie Tan, Dr Erwin, Dr Desmond Teo, dietitian Kim Fong and case coordinator Eve - for all their attention and care.

My father died on April 7, and I was surprised to receive a condolence card from the team.

I heartily thank them and hope they will carry on their good work.
