MRT staff makes commuter's day
On the morning of Sept 26, I was at Commonwealth MRT station when I realised that there was insufficient credit in my ez-link card to commence my journey.
I also had insufficient cash for a top-up and no ATM card.
I went to the control station to get help and was attended to by Ms Cheldi. I explained my plight to her and asked if she could allow me to proceed with my journey; I could then ask my friend whom I was meeting to help me with the top-up at my destination.
To my surprise, Ms Cheldi offered to do the top-up for me without any hesitation.
She said I could return her the money any time I happened to see her again.
The kindness of Ms Cheldi certainly brightened my day.

NUH docs, nurses help save kid's life
I thank the National University Hospital (NUH) for giving the best care to my daughter when she was in its children's emergency ward 47, children's high dependency ward and children's Clinic A.
I want to specially highlight senior paediatric doctor Dave Ong, who saved her life when she was found to have dangerously low blood pressure.
It was his quick detection and action that really saved her life. He was so professional and calm, guiding the younger doctors and nurses on what to do.
I also thank Clinic A nurse Maggie for being very efficient and professional.
Job well done by PUB team
When I observed a water leak at the exterior wall of my house, I called national water agency PUB, as advised.
The team headed by Mr Omar and Mr Ponambalam should be highly commended for their prompt action, excellent service and consideration.
They took care to ensure that no water was wasted due to leakage.
My family and I are proud to have been at the receiving end of such dedicated service.
