Great start to week with polite driver

Most of the time, I would greet the bus captain when I board the bus and he would return the greeting.

So I was pleasantly surprised when the driver of SMRT service 700 recently greeted me with a cheery "good morning" before I could do so.

At every bus stop, he would look at the rear-view mirror and thank the alighting passengers and wish them a nice day.

This bus captain really made my day, making a great start to my week.

Enjoyable session with stellar teacher

As a trained teacher, I understand the importance of teaching well so learners can be equipped with appropriate skills and habits.

Hence, I was impressed with Mr Alex Ngheen, an instructor at ComfortDelGro Driving Centre (Ubi), who taught me during a session on Feb 16.

He was clear in his instructions, ensuring that I was aware of what to expect from that session. He also showed an understanding of my needs and specific learning points.

He helped to build my confidence in the process and rounded up the session with practical tips.

He displayed excellence and professionalism, and his stellar coaching methods made learning enjoyable.

Kind help to move car out of traffic

During the morning rush hour on Feb 16, my car's engine died in the middle of the junction of North Buona Vista Road and North Buona Vista Drive, blocking other cars.

A man named Patrick came and helped to push my car to a safer spot.

I appreciate his kind deed very much. It made my day.

Fast, compassionate service from airline

My wife and son were booked to travel to Hong Kong on Jetstar on Feb 14. Unfortunately, two weeks before the departure, my wife developed medical conditions and her doctor advised her not to travel.

We contacted Jetstar to cancel the bookings. We also requested that it consider reimbursing the fares on compassionate grounds.

We received an acknowledgement of the request within hours, followed by a voucher for almost the full fares of the two tickets.

This was a pleasant surprise. We thank Jetstar for its compassion and prompt attention in addressing our request.
