MY FAMILY: Married to Shantha Amrith, an eye surgeon, 67, with a son, 35, and daughter, 30.

MY HOME: A condominium unit in Mount Sinai, near Holland Road.

MY HOBBIES: Reading, travel, following cricket.

WHAT I WRITE ABOUT: Everyday issues, such as the transport system and the media.

WHY I WRITE: To stay involved as a Singaporean.

I READ THE FORUM PAGE BECAUSE...: It presents a wide variety of opinions and suggestions on how to improve the Singapore experience.

MY WISH FOR SINGAPORE: I wish for Singapore to remain a welcoming place, where Singaporeans and foreigners can work together to forge mutually rewarding relationships and improve the standard of living.
