WHO: Han Ming Guang, 29, executive at a local tertiary institution.

MY FAMILY: I am single, with a brother, 33, and live with my parents.

MY HOME: A four-room flat in Tampines owned by my parents.

MY HOBBIES: Reading, playing and watching sports, going for concerts and watching movies.

I FIRST STARTED WRITING TO THE FORUM PAGE IN: 2006, when I was an undergraduate.

WHAT I WRITE ABOUT: I tend to write about issues that deal with education, history and heritage, censorship, gender, and on topics touching on social inequality, such as migrant worker issues.

WHY I WRITE: I write to the Forum pages because I feel that, as citizens and residents of Singapore, one should always be ready to voice out opinions and engage in healthy debates with the state or with other Singaporeans, to take responsibility in shaping and moulding the country.
I also write because there needs to be someone to speak out for the voiceless, especially on issues that may seem trivial or unimportant to most Singaporeans. If no one speaks up for these groups of people and we allow their issues to be ignored, what kind of society are we building?

I READ THE FORUM PAGE BECAUSE: I like to read differing opinions on certain issues, and it is very useful to quickly understand what the arguments are for and against a certain issue. The Forum page is also a good indicator of the problems that Singaporeans and the residents of Singapore face.

MY WISH FOR SINGAPORE: I hope that the Singapore we live in will be a more just society, where the voiceless will have a voice and where everyone can be treated with respect, regardless of age, religion, income level or even the place where they come from.
