Microsoft Surface Pro 3 available on Aug 28

Update: Microsoft announced today on its Surface blog that the Surface Pro 3 will be available at retail outlets on Aug 28. You can pre-order it at Microsoft's online store, as well as Challenger, Harvey Norman and Newstead stores. An optional docking station ($288) is also available for pre-orders now, though this accessory will only ship in September.

SINGAPORE - Microsoft is taking pre-orders for its upcoming Surface Pro 3 tablet-laptop hybrid device. According to the Microsoft Store website, the entry level version will cost S$1,108 (GST included) and comes with an Intel i3 4th generation Core processor and 64GB of internal storage space.

The mid-range Core i5 version with 128GB will set consumers back $1,348 while the highest specced-model, running on Core i7 and 512GB of storage costs $2,698.

The unique Surface covers - which doubles up as the keyboard on the other side - are sold separately. The Surface Pro Type cover costs $183 while the Touch Cover 2 is going for $168.
