The wait is almost over. The Xbox One will finally land on the shores of Singapore on September 23.

Microsoft’s next-generation console will retail here at $639 for the basic set which comes with the console, one Xbox One wireless controller and a 14-day trial of Microsoft’s online matchmaking service Xbox Live Gold for new members. At that price, Microsoft is pitting head-to-head with rival Sony Playstation 4 which has been selling in Singapore since last November at exactly the same price point.

There is also the Kinect set which comes with the Kinect sensor bar for playing motion sensing games on the Xbox One and this will cost an extra $100 at $739.

Meanwhile in Los Angeles, Microsoft kicked off the annual E3 video games expo Monday morning (US time) by focusing on showing off early gameplays and video trailers of the upcoming video games, squeezing over 20 of them into 90-minute show.

There were many exciting titles such as the latest Assassin’s Creed franchise called Unity where the player is transported back in time into the eve of the French Revolution and the highly anticipated shooter Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare which will feature veteran actor Kevin Spacey as a member of the cast.

Several Xbox One exclusive games which will launch this year include Sunset Overdrive, Forza Horizon Two and a new version of the hit dancing game called Dance Central Spotlight.
