Apple will exchange millions of iPhone chargers across 37 different countries due to an overheating risk, the tech giant announced on its website.

The company said that it had determined that one of its iPhone charger models could potentially overheat and pose a safety risk.

The exchange affects the Apple 5W European USB power adapter, which came with Apple's iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S models shipped from Octover 2009 to September 2012. Affected models feature the model number "Model A1300" and the letters "CE" in solid grey.

Apple said that overheating only occurred in rare cases. Affected users will be allowed to exchange affected power adapters for a new one at no charge. Models sold in Singapore are not affected, according a press release issued by Apple.
