US Supreme Court refuses to take up Argentine debt case

WASHINGTON (AFP) - The US Supreme Court on Monday refused to consider the landmark debt case in which Argentina is seeking to overturn a court judgment to repay US$1.47 billion (S$1.83 billion) to two hedge funds.

Argentina appealed to the nation's top court after a US appeals court in August ordered the South American country to repay the two hedge funds who had declined to take part in a restructuring of the debt.
