Temasek Holdings has appointed Wing Tai Holdings chairman and managing director Cheng Wai Keung as its deputy chairman with effect from Monday Nov 4.

Mr Cheng has been a non-executive director of Temasek since Sept 15, 2011. He is also a member of the Temasek board's executive committee.

Mr Cheng is also vice-chairman of the Singapore-Suzhou Township Development as well as a director with Singbridge Holdings, Singapore Health Services and the Kidney Dialysis Foundation.

Temasek appointed former Cabinet minister and labour union chief Lim Boon Heng as its chairman with effect from Aug 1 this year.

It owns a $215 billion portfolio as at March 31.
