Straits Times Index edges up 0.3%, in line with regional benchmarks

Share prices on the Singapore bourse rose, with the benchmark Straits Times Index ending the day higher by 9.80 points or 0.31 per cent to 3,179.71.

The rise, alongside regional peers, was led by an overnight rally in Wall Street and some signs of progress in the budget stand off in the United States.

Gainers led losers 227 to 193 while 382 counters were unchanged. Turnover stood at 2.94 billion shares worth $1 billion.
