ST Aerospace clinches $430 million in new contracts in 2Q 2013

Singapore Technologies Engineering's (ST Engg) aerospace unit has signed new contracts worth about $430 million in the April to June period this year.

The contracts secured by ST Aerospace are for airframe, component and engine maintenance, as well as VIP interior modifications, ST Engg said in a statement on Wednesday.

They include an exclusive component maintenance-by-the-hour contract worth $32.3 million awarded by Spring Airlines Japan, as well as a five-year multi-crew pilot licence training contract from Qatar Airways.

ST Aerospace also won three deals involving Boeing Business Jets, which are state-of-the-art luxury jets, ST Engg added.

Meanwhile, ST Aerospace redelivered a total of 185 aircraft for airframe maintenance and modification work in the second quarter.

This was in addition to the five Boeing 757-200 passenger-to-freighter conversions completed through its global maintenance, repair and overhaul network, said ST Engg.
