Slovenia needs $8.3b to recapitalise banks: Central bank

LJUBLJANA (AFP) - Slovenia will need 4.778 billion euros (S$8.3 billion) to recapitalise its troubled banks, central bank governor Bostjan Jazbec said on Thursday, citing the results of EU-supervised stress tests.

The tests were to determine whether the crisis-hit country could shore up its banks on its own or become the latest eurozone member to need outside help.
