Singapore shares ended little changed on Tuesday amid a lack of leads, as Wall Street was closed overnight for a public holiday.

The local benchmark Straits Times Index rose just 4.97 points, or 0.16 per cent, to 3,133.76.

Some 3.29 billion shares worth $912.3 million changed hands.

Gainers outnumbered losers 237 to 149.

HanKore Environment Tech was again among the top actives of the day, rising 0.7 cents to 11.7 cents after saying last week that it was in a reverse takeover deal with mainland giant China Everbright.

Most Asian bourses ended higher. In Tokyo, the benchmark Nikkei rose 0.99 per cent, Hong Kong added 0.45 per cent while Seoul gained 0.52 per cent and Sydney climbed 0.69 per cent.
