Singapore-based hospitality group SilverNeedle Hospitality aims to expand one of its hotel brands into Asia and possibly Singapore.

It said on Thursday that it has revamped its Country Comfort hotel brand and is now offering the brand for franchising.

The Country Comfort line of hotels is an upper midscale hotel brand in Australia and New Zealand. It mainly caters to business travellers.

Mr Iqbal Jumabhoy, managing director and group chief executive, said in a statement that the firm continually looks at ways to offer hotel owners and franchisees "brands and business models that meet their needs".

The firm said that it intends to develop other brands in its stable for franchising as well.

The hotel brands that it has include NEXT Hotels, Chifley Hotels, Australis Hotels, Sundowner Hotels and Motor Inns.
