The research arm of the Securities Investors Association of Singapore (Sias) will part ways from Sias to become a private company owned by its chief executive Roger Tan.

The research house, which announced the change on Wednesday, has been renamed Voyage Research.

Mr Tan has bought over Sias' stake in the company, and now owns it fully.

The company's team of six analysts will remain, said Mr Tan, who added that a new premium tier of membership will be launched within the next two or three months, targeted at high-net-worth individuals.

He said the split would enable Voyage Research to focus on remaining profitable.
