September private home sales jump by nearly 50% over August: URA

SINGAPORE - New private home sales last month staged a comeback after a quiet August, according to figures released by the Urban Redevelopment Authority on Wednesday.

URA said 648 units were sold in the month, a 48.3 per cent improvement from the 437 units moved in August, which was the lowest since the meagre 259 private home sales in December.

Still, last month's sales was almost 50 per cent lower than the 1,237 units moved a year back.

Projects which saw the most sales last month were new launches: 500-unit Highline Residences in Kim Tian Road, which sold 142 units at a median price of $1,848 per sq ft (psf) in the month; and 186-unit Seventy St Patrick's, which saw 110 units transacted at a median price of $1,652 psf.

Another new launch last month, the 106-unit Forte Suites in Mergui Road, moved 17 units at a median price of $1,742 psf.

Among projects which had been on the market before September, Lakeville in Jurong was a top seller with another 42 units sold at a median price of $1,274 psf, as was Eight Riversuites in Whampoa East, which moved another 21 units at a median price of $1,388 psf.

Including executive condominiums, 707 units were sold last month, a 44.3 per cent improvement from August.
